The Christmas Card

U.S. Army Sergeant Cody Cullen’s harrowing experience in Afghanistan concludes when his friend Jonesy is tragically killed while they are delivering medical supplies in Nurestan. Cody is tasked with returning personal belongings to Jonesy’s wife, now a widow. On his journey back, he stops in Nevada City, California, where he encounters Faith Spelman, who writes Christmas cards for the parish to send to lonely soldiers, including Cody, who is an orphan. By chance, Cody prevents Faith’s father, Luke, from being seriously injured in a car accident. Grateful, the Spellman family invites Cody to join them for dinner and later for the Christmas season. Cody becomes a valuable asset to their family logging business. Vietnam veteran Luke hopes Cody will become his son-in-law, but despite being captivated by him, Faith remains seemingly committed to her seldom-seen fiancé, Paul, a wine broker.
