The Blind Swordsman: Zatoichi

In this 2003 film, a blind masseur and master swordsman wanders into a town plagued by warring gangs and a ruthless samurai. As he becomes embroiled in the local conflict, his exceptional skills and mysterious past gradually come to light. Directed by Takeshi Kitano, who also stars in the titular role, the film is a unique blend of action, drama, and humor. It won the Silver Lion for Best Director at the Venice Film Festival.
