Sweeney Killing Sweeney

Veteran standup comedian Sweeney, known as “The Character King,” is offered a chance to perform on a national cable show in Los Angeles. However, there’s a catch: he must eliminate the local references from his routine, particularly his popular portrayals of vibrant Boston “characters” that have been key to his success at home. Sweeney reluctantly decides to abandon these characters. To his horror, the characters manifest into reality and seek vengeance, attempting to end Sweeney’s life.
