Sun Ra: A Joyful Noise

Between 1978 and 1980, Robert Mugge captured the essence of jazz legend Sun Ra in a film shot across Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C. This 60-minute documentary features a variety of public and private performances, poetry recitations, a band practice session, interviews, and a wealth of improvisational moments. The original 16mm footage has been meticulously transferred to HD and restored to ensure an optimal viewing experience.
