In 1991, a team of visionary nonconformists constructed a massive model of Earth’s ecosystem, known as Biosphere 2. When eight individuals, referred to as “biospherians,” inhabited this sealed environment, they encountered environmental disasters and were accused of cult-like behavior. Their extraordinary journey serves as both a warning and a tribute to the ability of small groups to envision and reshape the world.
