Saved by the Bell

“Saved by the Bell” is an American sitcom that was broadcast on NBC between 1989 and 1993. It evolved from the Disney Channel’s “Good Morning, Miss Bliss.” The show centers on a group of friends and their principal, primarily featuring humorous and light-hearted scenarios, but it also occasionally delves into serious social topics like drug use, drunk driving, homelessness, divorce, death, and environmental concerns. This blend of comedy and important themes paved the way for future shows that present young viewers with significant moral questions.

The series stars Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Dustin Diamond, Lark Voorhies, Dennis Haskins, Tiffani-Amber Thiessen, Elizabeth Berkley, and Mario Lopez. Recognized by AOL TV as one of the “20 Best School Shows of All Time,” “Saved by the Bell” led to the creation of two spin-offs: “Saved by the Bell: The College Years,” a prime-time series following some original characters into college, and “Saved by the Bell: The New Class,” a Saturday morning show featuring a new set of students at Bayside High. Additionally, the series inspired two TV movies and a brief comic book series. It was also broadcast in Australia on Channel Seven and on Nickelodeon from 1990 to 2004, with reruns appearing in local syndication and on MTV2.
