The show is adapted from Park So-hee’s Korean comic “Goong.” It was broadcast on Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation, running from January 11 to March 30, 2006, with episodes airing on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9:55 PM, totaling 24 episodes.

In 2006, “Princess Hours” was one of MBC’s top-rated dramas, only surpassed by “Jumong.” It ranked as the tenth most-watched drama of the year, according to TNS Media. Its popularity led to the creation of a spin-off series, “Goong S,” which premiered on January 10, 2007.
