Kingpin
“Kingpin” is a crime drama series from the United States that premiered on NBC and CTV in Canada on February 2, 2003, and ran for six episodes. Positioned as NBC’s response to “The Sopranos” and drawing inspiration from “The Godfather,” “Macbeth,” and “Traffik,” the narrative centers on Miguel Cadena, a Mexican drug lord, and his family dynamics. Although there were intentions to develop it into a full series, these plans were scrapped due to low viewership. The mini-series was promoted on NBC with commercials featuring the song “Más” by the Mexican band Kinky.
