Good Luck Charlie

Good Luck Charlie is a U.S. sitcom that debuted on Disney Channel on April 4, 2010. Created by Phil Baker and Drew Vaupen, the show was designed to entertain the whole family, not just kids. It centers on the Duncan family from Denver as they adapt to the arrival of their fourth and fifth children, Charlotte “Charlie” Duncan and Toby Duncan. In each episode, Teddy Duncan records a video diary offering Charlie advice about family life and teenage experiences, aiming to prepare her for the future. Teddy concludes each diary with the signature line, “Good luck, Charlie.”

To ensure the show appealed to all ages, the creators included scenes for adults and changed the title from Oops to Love, Teddy, and finally to Good Luck Charlie. The series premiered on Disney Channel in the U.S. on April 4, 2010, followed by Canada on April 5, 2010, the UK and Ireland on May 14, 2010, and Australia and New Zealand on July 23, 2010. The show was picked up for a second season, with filming starting in August 2010 and the new season airing on February 20, 2011. Additionally, a feature-length Christmas movie titled Good Luck Charlie, It’s Christmas! began production in March 2011 and was set to premiere in December 2011.
