Sara enrolls at Julliard in New York, aiming to achieve her and her mother’s aspiration of becoming the school’s leading ballerina. She quickly forms a friendship with her roommates, Zoe and Miles, who are hip-hop instructors. Her ballet lessons are under the strict guidance of the renowned Monique Delacroix, whom Sara greatly admires. Monique demands total dedication, discipline, and effort from her students. When Miles, a composer, asks Sara to collaborate on creating music for a dance routine, she discovers a newfound enthusiasm for hip-hop and develops romantic feelings for him. As she is chosen to perform Giselle at a significant event, Sara finds herself torn between the precision of ballet and the innovative opportunities presented by Miles.
