Set in the opulent court of Louis XVI, this film follows a young engineer, Grégoire Ponceludon de Malavoy, as he navigates the treacherous waters of 18th-century French aristocracy. With wit as his only weapon, he seeks to secure royal patronage to drain the swamps of his province and save his people from disease.
