Glory

Set during the American Civil War, this film follows the journey of the 54th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment, one of the first African-American units in the Union Army. The story is told through the eyes of Colonel Robert Gould Shaw, played by Matthew Broderick, who leads the regiment with the help of his friend, Major Cabot Forbes, portrayed by Cary Elwes. The film also stars Denzel Washington and Morgan Freeman, who deliver powerful performances as soldiers in the regiment.
