Renowned countertenor Andreas Scholl takes on the lead role of Roman ruler Julius Caesar in this unforgettable rendition of Georg Friederich Handel’s “Giulio Cesare,” performed at the Royal Danish Opera. Director Francisco Negrin shifts the setting from antiquity to modern times, vividly depicting the legendary love affair between Caesar and the Egyptian queen Cleopatra, portrayed by soprano Inger Dam-Jensen.
