This film presents a journey through 500 years of north inner city Dublin, spanning from Henrietta Street to Grangegorman. It combines motion graphics, live-action footage, and charcoal sketches of patients’ faces from rare pre-1900 photographs housed in The National Archives. The narrative delves into the evolution of social control, mental institutions, and rehabilitation practices. The story is told through the imagined voice of a deceased artist friend, Tony Rudenko, with narration provided by Aidan Gillen.
