Backyard Ashes

Dougie Waters cherishes nothing more than spending his weekends enjoying barbecues and cricket games with his friends. However, his idyllic life is disrupted when his best friend and neighbor, Norm, has to move away, and their new neighbor, an arrogant Englishman named Edward Lords, takes his place. Tensions between Dougie and Edward reach a boiling point during a backyard cricket game when Dougie accidentally hits a ball that knocks out Edward’s award-winning cat, Dexter. The cat tragically falls into the blazing barbecue and is instantly reduced to ashes. Dougie’s son records the mishap, and the video quickly becomes a viral sensation on YouTube. This leads to the idea of a backyard cricket competition, with the victor earning the right to keep the ashes of Edward’s late cat, Dexter. The two teams engage in an epic showdown in what becomes the most legendary backyard cricket match ever, competing for the Backyard Ashes.
