In Spain during the 1970s, Stanley Kubrick’s “A Clockwork Orange,” hailed by critics and audiences as a cinematic masterpiece since its 1971 release, faced a ban under the rigid Franco regime. Yet, remarkably, the film managed to debut uncensored at the 20th Seminci, the Valladolid Film Festival, on April 24, 1975. How did this come to pass?
