A Fire in the Cold Season

In the vast forests and mill towns of central Newfoundland, a quiet rumor circulates. The discovery of a body by the riverbank unites a solitary fur trapper with an expectant mother burdened by sorrow. Scott, isolated and yearning for purpose, crosses paths with Mona, who is determined yet vexed by her own vulnerability. As their uneasy reliance on each other grows, they become entangled in a web of violence, forced to confront the consequences left by a deceased man. Pursued by criminals, they devise a plan to escape.
