Dedalus
DEDALUS is a fictional triptych that explores themes of community, love, and loss. In a small town in Iowa, a grocery store cashier is powerless as his peers cover up a sexual assault against his teenage step-sister. Will she decide to keep the baby? Meanwhile, in New York City, a hustler exchanges favors for food, shelter, and companionship during the winter. A young woman offers him a place to stay, but his unreturned affection for an older gay client remains unfulfilled. Facing his own mortality, a father relocates from Los Angeles to live with his daughter. Jonah Greenstein’s stunningly filmed debut feature weaves together loneliness and beauty, resulting in a film of remarkable cinematic intimacy.
