Orlando is facing the end of his life. Accepting his destiny, he desires nothing more than to be alone with his vices—alcohol, drugs, and his pet hermit crab. However, his wish for isolation is disrupted when he is awakened by Jean-Luc, a relentlessly talkative Frenchman who exists as a voice within his mind. Now, alongside battling cancer, Orlando must contend with Jean-Luc’s constant inquiries and observations, as well as the unsettling realization that Jean-Luc is gradually gaining control over all his senses—sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch.
