Qing mi

It seems that writer-director Carol Lai might have aimed for a Black Swan-like narrative with her story about a stage performer who unintentionally sets off on a path of self-destruction while taking on a coveted role. The film, The Second Woman, is perhaps better understood through its Chinese title, Romance Riddle, which suggests a mystery filled with hints rather than a straightforward romantic tale. The plot revolves around twins who fall for the same man, who believes he can juggle relationships with both women, only to realize that this leads to twice the complications.
