First Descent

“First Descent,” a documentary released in 2005, explores the origins of snowboarding, tracing its roots back to the 1980s. The film highlights the journeys of snowboarders Shawn Farmer, Nick Perata, Terje Haakonsen, Hannah Teter, and Shaun White, with special appearances by Travis Rice. These athletes embody three different generations of snowboarders, showcasing the evolution and advancements in this relatively young sport over the last twenty years. The majority of the documentary was filmed in the scenic landscapes of Alaska.
