By the mid-1980s, Athens, Georgia had become the epicenter of the American music scene, largely due to the success of bands like the B-52’s and R.E.M. This film explores the vibrant and diverse musical landscape of Athens, showcasing a variety of bands from different genres. It portrays the city as a magical hub of creativity where musicians collaborate rather than compete, united by shared artistic values. The film includes live performances of R.E.M.’s “Swan Swan H” and “Dream (All I Have To Do)” at the Lucy Cobb Institute chapel. It also features performances and interviews with the B-52’s, Pylon, B-B-Que Killers, Time Toy, Jim Herbert, Flat Duo Jets, Love Tractor, Kilkenny Cats, Squalls, and others.
